18 Jul 2019 JOHANNESBURG - South African Reserve Bank (Sarb) Governor Lesetja Kganyago has announced that the repo rate will be cut by 25 basis 

The current Repo Rate is 5.40% and Reverse Repo Rate is 5.15%. The Repo Rates last witnessed a change in its level on August 07, 2019 when Repo Rate declined by 0.35% from its previous level of 5.75%. and the Reverse Repo Rate declined by 0.35% from its previous level of 5.50%. Repo suggests the rate at which liquidity is injected into the banking system whereas Reverse Repo is the rate at which RBI absorbs liquidity from the banks. RBI controls the money supply in the country by effecting the changes in repo rate & reverse repo rate. Therefore repo and reverse repo rate are known as key policy rates.
