The Egyptians had trade routes through the Red Sea, importing spices from the " Land of Punt" (East Africa) and from Arabia. You'd get far, far more trade routes in eu4 than in stellaris if you would do it on a province by province basis, which might be a difference in performance. But then again, maybe we shouldn't speculate about a system we barely know anything about :P I don't know all the logic on how much trade protection a station provides, but in general a beefier station will offer more protection. You can mix and match these. So, six trade hubs would collect trade from a large chunk of most any empire, but would require you to set up patrols to defend the routes. Are there trade routes in Stellaris? I was thinking about Star Wars, in how the galaxy has these massive hyperspace lanes / trade routes. Does Stellaris feature something like that? It would be sick to cut a empire of and then launch your invasion later on. I would love to see them "borrow inspiration" from Distant Worlds. Check the trade routes map mode, bottom right, it'll show you the path, as well as any piracy risk sectors if there are any. If there are, send a fleet there to patrol. However, that is not where my trade route located. My trade route should be from system A to system C to system B, how can i set the potral to protect such route? I'm trying to divert around a system with aliens in it, that are cutting off my trade route. I've looked through the menus for about 15 minutes. I can find the system in the Trading menu. But, despite tons of furious clicks everywhere imaginable I can't figure out how to remove a system, or adjust the trade route. CAN you adjust the trade route?

Trade routes do not exist in this game because trade does not exist and there is no REAL impact on the galactic economy. I do not see why players should establish meaningful relations with other empires instead of conquering them.
